When my hair was dyed lots of magical rainbow colours, I did used to get this question - mainly from little girls asking nicely, though, so I didn't mind.

My tattoos, on the other hand, have resulted in so very much unwanted handling from strangers - people picking up my arms so they can better read what's written on them, or moving aside bits of clothing so they can see them better. I'm quite a confrontation-avoiding person, and I never know how to deal with these situations - because almost always I think the person doing it thought they were paying me a compliment by admiring them. Maybe I should take a leaf out of Autobot's book and use them as a chance to educate people...

Nope. I attribute it to buns + "boring" haircolor. My hair's not thick enough to attract special attention, and there's enough taper that people haven't thought it's extensions. The no-makeup probably adds to that as well...but toddlers love touching my braid.

hmm...didn't know you can buy 'clip-on buns' of course...the ads must be careful to identify which buns the clip-ons depict....lol

I once got weave checked (someone sticking their fingers into my hair to check for tracks) at a church function. I turned around and gave her a death glare.

I used to get asked how long my hair was and what I used (product-wise) to get it that length. All that ended when I got my locs

When I kept my hair in a chin length bob with a blunt bang I was regularly asked this... but at the time I kept my hair dyed neon fuchsia.

No one has ever asked me when my hair was long and relatively natural.

I've never been asked if my length is real, but people seem to think my curls are fake. If my curls are having a good day, I get perfect spirals that are curling iron sized. I've had so many people ask what curling iron I use or what product I use to keep the curls looking nice all day. It's funny when people are genuinely surprised that my hair is entirely natural with no heat tools or product. I never completely understand the mix-up though because there's a very distinct difference between curling iron and natural curls. Mine might be curling iron sized, but I've got clumps that go in the wrong direction and my roots look frizzy. If I was purposely curling it, I would do a better job.

I have also been asked where I got my balayage done. I have been l never dyed my hair in my life. My hair is very easily sun bleached and turns a dark reddish blond if I'm out a lot.

Funny story, my grandma gave me a very expensive curling iron for Christmas one year because even she thought my curls were fake. I opened it, and my heart kinda stopped because you know that it was a very pricy thing from a very generous and thoughtful person, but is a complete waste because you know you'll never use it.(not a total waste because I was able to regift it to someone who absolutely loved it)

A long time ago someone asked if my hair was real. I was laughing. I don't think I really understood what was going on then. Back then, extensions weren't as popular as they are now, and I didn't even know there was such a thing.
