So I am wondering how everyone wears there hair to sleep. As my hair gets longer, I am finding it harder and harder to wear down to sleep because I wake up with a bunch of knots. However, I'm scared to wear my hair up because I don't want it to leave a "dented" style the next morning in my hair. How do you guys wear yours?

One faux English braid down the back, no hair elastic needed.
Usually a single french braid because I can do them pretty quickly and I like the wave pattern they give me.
I've been putting mine up in a bun with spin pins lately. I think I am going to have to find something else to do because I am waking up with headaches, which I assume is because I am not used to sleeping with my hair up.
My ends are much too fragile for braids due to my previous heat/dye damage. Even while using the cut-up pantyhose ties I end up with splits.no idea what to do. Maybe i'll practice weaving in some ribbon and covering the ribbon with the ponytail holder instead of my hair at night. Like a paranda/parandi.

I put mine in a tail almost on top of my head without pulling it all the way through on the last wrap so the ends are splayed over the top of my head.
When it was tailbone-length, I wore it in two braids.
I wear a satin sleeping cap and never get tangles now.

I've been getting good results with a high sock bun. I hang upside down and get it as close to the top of my head as I can so it's out of the way while I'm sleeping. So far, it's been holding well and it doesn't leave an imprint on my hair. It's also fairly loose, so my scalp gets a rest from my usual day styles and it contains the portion of my hair at the back of my scalp that has been getting kinked to the side when my hair is either down or braided. Loose French or Dutch braids that start high also give me good results, but aren't as nice for people who have issues with things under their heads.
I also toss a silk cap over my hair, even if it's up, when I can find the silk cap. The hair at the back of my neck gets a lot of wear anyways from my turtleneck habit and I'm too lazy to get silk bedding and I cuddle blankets under my head.
