Hello and welcome
I've been a member for quite some time now, always reading other's posts but never posting anything myself. I've been trying to grow out my hair for a year now and I started from shoulder length. A month ago, the hairdresser I usually go to, cut my hair shorter than I wanted, not to mention she also used the flat iron on a very high setting (I could smell my hair burning) and I personally never use heat in my hair. So that was a major setback in my hair journey. It feels like I'll never get past shoulder length. My hair was also bleached a year ago (I've got highlights) , so the ends are always dry. I have to use argan oil every day and I've recently started wearing my hair up in a bun in hopes that it will somehow protect it.
I hope to meet new people here and share experiences about our hair journeys. Hopefully, I'll make some friends along the way. Have a great day everybody, and stay healthy!

Hi, welcome.
If you are the length in your avatar, you can probably (next time it needs a cut), do it yourself. Feye's self-trimming instructions are very popular here.

I actually printed the instructions off, in case it should ever go off-line. And well, I kind of also know them by heart by now.
Hi! Thank you so much for your kind advice
Welcome! Wearing your hair up is definitely useful. Many people experience growth stalls due to the mechanical damage that accumulates from wearing their hair down every day.
I also started with bleached-in highlights and heat damage; it's nothing you can't overcome Monitor your hair's condition and trim as necessary. S&D (cutting off split ends as you find them) is also a good idea as you grow.
What is your goal length?
.
Hi! Nice to meet you😀
My dream length is definitely waist length, but I've never had my hair that long, so I don't know if that's even possible for me. For now, I just want to get past shoulder length, maybe get to the armpit length by spring. Baby steps.😅
Hi! Thank you!
