It is.. Tuanyiji, if you braid wet/damp with a tiny bit of a "super hold" gel and allow your hair to completely dry before letting it down, the waves will last a longer.

Thank you. I know wet braided hair create longer waves, but I sadly have a problem with sleeping with wet hair, it made my pillow smell funny and I’d wake up with a headache. I seldom put gel or any "holding" products in my hair to prevent buildup,I always sleeps with a braid as a protective style, I put my hair up in a bun during the day anyway, so the waves are not for show, it’s like my funny little secret morning hair

And now I get to share this secret with the long hair community lol

So my hairstick fell out while I was typing away at work...and this was the resulting cascade.

I got quite distracted playing with my hair and watching it shine in the winter sunlight that was pouring in the windows. Fortunately I wasn't wearing my reading glasses so I didn't find many split ends, or I probably would've been distracted for quite a bit longer than I should have been!
