Welcome Emiline! Ginger is my favourite hair colour (unfortunately, it looks terrible on me, I tried).
I second lapushka's recommendation to research well before playing with henna . It could be a good option for you, once you figure out the mix and all of that.

When I was doing henna, my hair seemed a bit thicker (not much more) and a lot shinier, that's a nice effect.
