Boo I can’t vote as I wash using water! But I focus on the roots to distribute the sebum

These days I'm doing a lengths-only conditioner wash every few days and a whole-head conditioner wash every week to ten days. Shampoo as needed (every couple of months), roots only.

ETA: The editing box freaked out and only half of my comment posted ) : I don't go to any great effort to keep shampoo off my lengths; I always figure that they get a little shampoo in the course of rinsing off my scalp. But I find that just conditioner is sufficient to deal with any greasiness/dreck/buildup on the lengths, so I don't see any point in actually setting out to shampoo them.

Roots once every 1-2 weeks. Length when I clarify, once a month

I wash my roots and let the lather run down the length. I only apply shampoo to my length if there's something I really need to wash out - maybe once a month or less.

I only time I apply shampoo to my length is when I have an oil treatment in, so that ends up being once every 1-2 weeks. That whole system clarifies my hair the appropriate 1-2 times a week I need but also moisturizes. Occasionally I'll wash the whole length with no oil if I have a ton of products in my hair.

I weekly wash, and do an oil rinse + put stylers on my length (gel / cream / serum) and so I used to do roots only and let the suds run down and do the lengths every couple washes, but I have noticed less tangling when I suds up my lengths as well every week. I think my hair needs it!

Roots daily or every other day, lengths once every 1-3 weeks (when the hair asks for it)

I shampoo my roots only and let the suds rinse down my length. It's always worked for me except when I'm using cones, then I have to shampoo my length every other wash.

I normally wash my scalp and roots only, and the lengths every other or every third wash. I've settled on that routine as my hair seems happiest that way.

When I do wash my lengths, I have a specific way of doing so. I will wash the lengths first, then rinse out that shampoo, and only after that will I wash my scalp and roots and rinse that off through the lengths again.
