Kinda returning after a loooooong absence

So I used to haunt this forum back in 2005 (yes, I'm old). I was basically homebound, in isolation (taking care of an ill elderly parent), and decided to grow out my hair because getting to the hairdresser was near-impossible. Prior to that, I'd always had pixie-cut hair. Growing it out was kinda fun, and I got all the way to maybe shoulder length, maybe a little beyond shoulder length, before my isolation ended (thankfully, my mother recovered fully).

I cut my hair short again shortly thereafter, and kept it in a very short bob or a pixie cut ever since then - until our current coronavirus crisis. I'm in isolation again, and this time there's really no way I can get to a hairdresser (and even after states reopen, it's not like the virus is just going to disappear - so as far as I'm concerned, hairdressers are unavailable until there's a vaccine).

So here I am again, growing out my hair. It's a lot more salt-and-peppery since the last time I tried this, but just as coarse, wavy, and unruly as it was last time. This time I want to get to at least BSL. My life has fundamentally changed because of the virus, and I want my hair to be different too, and maybe long hair is the "new me" now.

Right now, what I've got on my head is either a very very short bob or a very very weird mullet. I can't wait to get through this stage.

Well my goodness, meepster! Welcome back.

Yes, you are in a odd stage right now with the mullet thing, but fortunately nobody will see you so you can just grow through it.

hi....welcome back...even though I wasn't here then...lol mostly resonating with your last sentence. many years ago I looked like my profile photo, but decided to grow back last year, but issues crept up and just started again for sure in february. Annnnnndddd....unless there is something like a guy bob....hmmm....I'm just getting into the beginning of the mullet stage again, with mostly salt and some pepper now. This time will be NO mullet and all one length to go as long as I can as long as it looks and feels decent. No scissors til I can get it all in a ponytail(probably another 4 months) and then microtrims on the back until it is all the same length.
