    Default So many questions!

    Hi everyone!

I'm Eleanor, started as an accidental longhair and now I'm becoming a bit obsessive - oops! I'm currently at about hip length but my longest strands are pretty much tbl when they're fully stretched out in the shower. For some reason my left side is always longer than my right?

I've been lurking around for most of lockdown, and decided at this point I might as well sign up. I've been making the most of not being allowed out and trying to stretch washes - I've been trying 4 days but I don't think I'll ever make it that long - I ride and exercise most days so I have sweat as well as grease . I'm thinking of putting in a cowash about day 2 or 3 - has anyone else with fine hair ever tried it? I only have a slight wave so I'm not sure it'll work for me.

Why do some people dislike silicones so much?

I've also been trying some new buns (using a bamboo crochet hook as I don't have a hairstick). I'm enjoying not pulling half my hair out with a bobble, but I do find my bun always slips down my head and I'm not really sure what to do about it...

I'll hopefully be able to beg / bribe someone in my family to take some photos of my hair soon! - probably after I next wash it, it's not looking its best today.

    Thanks for reading!

    Hello! Welcome to the forum!

Some people's hair just grows unevenly for each side. I don't think I've noticed this on myself, but I've seen other posts about it. As for silicones, sometimes they can be too heavy for a person's hair and make it look stringy. But other people's hair does well with silicones, so it really just depends on how your hair is.

I used a crochet hook as a makeshift hairstick at first too!

Hi and Welcome! Your questions will be answered as your time here lengthens. And, by they way, your hair will lengthen too. I have never used a crochet hook as a hair stick, but I do love hair sticks. I have curly hair. My hair has been growing for 2 1/2 years and I have learned a lot. Stay tuned. This is an awesome place to be.
I’m finally checking the ONE and only item off my bucket list! Longer hair than a pixie! Now I’m creeping to waist and can’t believe it!!! Growing til I retire...and probably after.... 🤗

    Thanks everyone!

Tried my first cowash last night and my hair actually looks clean! I wasn't expecting good results at all. I wasn't so keen on silicone free when I tried it once by accident (the conditioner was on sale), but my waves have been looking quite stringy lately so I might try it again since I'm back at home and we have some silicone free stuff hanging around anyway.
Does anyone have any opinions on L'Oreal dream lengths? It's what I've been using recently but it does have sulphates and silicones in.

    Hello and welcome!
I have wavy (2a/2b) hair, and I do not mind either sulfates or silicones. I like to try new hair care products and see how they work for me.

Welcome! My hair and scalp doesn't like cones or sulfates, so I avoid them. But they aren't bad if they work for you
