That sounds like midback length would be a good gender neutral marker, but it may need a more specific definition?
I never understood where exactly BSL is supposed to be on people who wear bras anyway, for the reasons mentioned above the placement seems to vary so much, based on body shape, type of a bra etc.! I think I'd prefer "in between two specific anatomy markers" as a replacement even though it's hard to see that myself. :)

Oh, I don't measure "bottom of chest"/BSL from the front. It's more like how people measure hip length, I place my hands at the bottom of my chest and where my thumbs are placed in the back is where I consider the milestone to be. My shoulder blades are not obvious just looking at my back, and I find it hard to find a consistent point for BSB by touch. I guess that's why it's a less reliable milestone for me than BSL

How do you measure your milestones in inches (or cm)? Do you start from the top of your head, or from your nape?
Neck - Shoulder- APL - BSL- mid back - Waist - Hip - BCL - Tailbone!

I've been seeing some really beautiful photos of slightly deep U shaped hemlines around this forum. I've been considering getting that myself in my next trim in October but I'm wondering: would the differences in length make it harder to do hairstyles such as braids and buns?

Maybe leave the start of the U your desired length, so the bottom of the U is a much longer length. What I'm trying to say is, just let the hairdresser cut the U in without touching the length that much; so it is in essence longer. That way it won't mess with the bunning. If that even makes sense.

Are you planning on doing it yourself? Because then this would be easier to do.
