pisinoe, are you positive those knotted hairs are always all attached to your head? Is it possible you might be experiencing some increased shedding? When I was having my heavy shed, I'd experience terrible knots, especially in the shower after shampooing my hair (and thus loosening a lot of strands).

I learnt from some curly hair videos that after you apply a conditioner, it's easier to spread it by adding more water so you end up using less product for the same effect. I go for the seaweed consistency and very squishy sound by adding water, and only if it doesn't feel perfectly slippery and coated, adding more conditioner as needed. :)

I was about to ask the same; from the photo and your description, it looks a bit like tangled shed hair.

Girls with straight hair: Do you find that your hair benefits from brushes? I only have regular combs and was wondering if brushes would be worth it, to "distribute the oils from the scalp".

When I had bangs, I just did a quick wash in the sink or used dry shampoo if I couldn't do my usual daily wash.

I'm trying to estimate how long a 100ml bottle would last

Yes, using a bbb allows me to exfoliate my scalp and distribute sebum a bit down the length (only about 6-8” realistically) and stretch my wash day to every week vs. every 4-5 days.

My 4oz bottles (118ml) of oils last me between 2-3 months if I'm doing oil treatments every 2 weeks. I use about 2tbs each use

Interesting! I might get one sometime. I've been hesitating on buying a BBB for years as I've seen so many conflicting comments. Guess I'll never know until I try.
