No, I just take mine down and go to sleep. If it was in a braid or braided style, I sleep with it braided. If it was in an unbraided bun or if it's wet from washing, I wear it down. Probably works out to half the nights down and half braided.

When my hair was hip length, I braided it for sleep, but it was never comfortable. I'm much happier being able to leave it loose and draped above my pillow. No issue with tangles.

I pineapple my hair. I actually can't sleep with it loose anymore.

I'm like this too. Sleeping with my hair loose is comfortable and hasn't seemed to cause any problems, so I intend to continue doing it. Though if I'm keeping a braided style in for a few days, I'll sleep with the braids in, which happens to be what I've done the last two nights.

I braid my hair, and then put it inside a silk scarf. I would describe it a a sleeping cap, but it's really more of a noodle that I slip over my braid. I toss and turn a lot in the night, but it stays on most of the time and keeps my braid from shredding like it used to.

I always sleep with my hair in braid. It does wonders to prevent tangles. I'm thinking about buying a silk/satin pillowcase as well, but the cost is a major deterrent :P

Anymore I only sleep with my hair down when i have a way too much to drink. Most nights i do a highset cinnamon bun or Frida braids using a satin sash instead of a scarf.

Ever since hitting waist sleeping with my hair down just results in a matted mess.

ETA i also have one silk and one satin pillow case which alternate when i wash bedding.

I sleep with my hair down, always. I love how it looks in the morning, for some reason it gains volume and it doesn't get tangled so...
I've tried protective styles, but I hate how hair looks after braids, tried a bun and my hair was a mess the next morning and loose ponytails just don't last through the night.

I always braid my hair for bed. Sometimes a French braid, sometimes two English braids.

Heck no! I need to feel comfortable when I sleep and the only way my head feels comfortable is with my hair down. I've been a longhair most of my life and it hasn't caused me issues, so I won't fix that if it isn't broken. If I one day need to make changes to my sleeping style, I will deal with it then.

I do use a silk satin pillowcase, though, and I keep my hair out of harm's way as much as possible by positioning it behind the pillow. There it stays quite well, mostly.
