Hello!!!
I have a huge problem! I train mostly everyday, and i sweat so so much. Also in the summer the weather makes you sweat a lot.
When i finish exercising my scalp is so wet, and i want to ask you how do you clean your scalp? Now un quarentine i'm experimenting a little bit.
I want to avoid using shampoo, because i want to use it twice a week!
Only water?
Baking soda?
Thanks so much

Through Texas summers, I would rinse my scalp with water every day and shampoo 3 or 4 times a week. Keeping your scalp clean and healthy is almost always going to serve you best, but you can also coordinate your wash days with your workout days.

I didn't know! I wont use baking soda again!
Maybe putting some shikakai? Or other ayurveda powder?
I haven’t used shikakai alone but mixed with soapnuts and amla cleans my scalp nicely without drying out my hair like shampoo does. I really like the herbs a lot. I have an oily head. I use a liquid infusion just about daily because I’m nervous about powder not rinsing out but I think most people just use powder. I would be curious to hear how you like it.
I have a suuuper gentle shampoo that needs two applications to clean properly. I find that to be and excellent choice for every day gym washing: i use a single application, It leaves my hair just right for another wash next day.
Alternatively, I use an ACV rinse. Water only is not my favorite: my scalp needs to be particularly dry for WO to work. Otherwise It creates a gunky build-up that I need to clarify next wash.

Just use water. Or if you want your scalp to feel cleaner, use some shampoo, very much diluted.

If you train every day, and your scalp gets very sweaty, I think you need to wash it. Just use a gentle shampoo.

Have you tried dry shampoo? I'm new here, so perhaps this is long hair heresy, but when I used to work out a lot, using dry shampoo after a work out meant I could stretch the time between washing without feeling super gross.
Also, I don't know what kind of exercise you're doing, but sometimes you can get better results by having a rest day after an intense workout rather than training everyday (certainly that was my experience when I was doing a lot of weights).
Why do you want to shampoo twice a week? Do you find it drying if you use it more often? If you're using an SLS shampoo, you might find it easier to switch to a gentler shampoo you can use more frequently, or dilute your shampoo so it's less drying.
You also don't *have* to wash your hair after every time you exercise. Sometimes a rinse is enough, depending on how sweaty it gets (I don't even wet it at all sometimes if I'm lifting, as depending on what I'm doing and the conditions I might not sweat any more than I do, say, walking around the block in the summer). I would say that if a rinse is not enough, use shampoo.
