What's the problem with them being bendy?
I agree with using some spin pins to secure the bun and then add those for decoration. they are lovely.

Grew from shoulder to thumb length in 7 years without trims. Now maintaining.
There once was a girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good she was very, very good. But when she was bad she was horrid.
this is with MINIMAL effort.
Its like using twisted paper to secure a bun - that's the problem.
I don't use shawls or scarves but the plant holder idea, I like. I have too many functional forks to just put decor in my hair, although I could see how that could *maybe* work.
The shop is called bythebrookeside. She gifted me 2 wooden sticks for the problems and since they are wood they are okay but I just can't buy anything else from her seeing as how so many were defects. I wanted to warn people people about the shop specifically but I also didn't know the protocol for that on here.

I'm guessing they added the bendable part on the name and description and photos after your complaints? That's a weird thing to do or say, if that's the case. To say they were specially designed that way and selling them as a special tool instead of saying they are defects? I mean that if she added that only after you got them.

Yeah, that is totally new. I can see if I can access my listings and screenshot if requested.
I’m glad she’s putting the facts out there although I’m not sure how or why you would secure hair that way or would want to. That’s like using a silicone straw as a chopstick, floppy....

I bought from her, too. She said she made them that way deliberately, because her scalp is very tender and cannot handle tight updos... It didn't totally make sense to me. It's sad because the hairsticks I got are very pretty, but even with my not-thick hair they bent dramatically and quickly. The wooden stick she sent me is thick and blunt; I'm a novice so I have to learn sanding and finishing to be able to use it.
Huh, weird imo. I get what you mean and can imagine how they feel. What a disappointment. I also don't really see how they would work on anybody's hair. My only guess is she's not so experienced making sticks from this material? Tops or small things, maybe, but perhaps the forks were an experiment. But good that they added the bendable part and photos, at least...
How weird. They must be very difficult to use!

OMG no, that wouldn't work for me. I mean in itself it's not a problem, if you're just starting out, but still... Meh, maybe not. A good hair accessory is worth its weight in gold.
Thank you for sharing the store, desi! I don't know if that's allowed. But hairsticks, or hairstuff 'n more was a shop like that as well, and that was shared here too. Some had good experiences others bad ones (plenty of others bad ones).
