I seriously doubt there is any magical difference between 2a and 1c/2a considering I've typed myself as both in the past 1c/2a hair does show wave/clumping, and if perisceris wants to try and work with that, I see nothing wrong with trying out CG. It's made a huge difference in many people's waves, even if they were very slight to start with.

My hair clumps together too so I just brush it when that happens a few times a day.

I’m also 2a and mine clumps, it’s the way it goes when you’re a wavy.
You can brush it and break it up but it usually makes me go frizzy.

I think 1c/2a is per definition a type 2 hair? There's a 2 in there... Also if you're in between two hair types, you typically have to be mindful of both types' needs, but how much of each is really individual... saying that someone else does/doesn't have a certain hair type or hair need over the internet is just... I don't want to say impossible, but really difficult?

Anyway, my hair is 1c/2a, it clumps, and I enjoy it makes my hair look wavier than it is

For sure, the hair type transitions are very fluid. You don't cross any huge barrier from one type to another. I think this gatekeeping attitude about the CG method being strictly for x+ type is just meh.

Imma call my hair routine the wonky-wo howdy-ho method and nobody is allowed to do it unless they frequently bump into walls as they navigate the nooks and crannies of their homes because otherwise, it's just not for you.
