Cool How to TYPE your hair and join the groups and blogs

I thought I saw a post on how to TYPE your hair. I know how to do the porosity test but I don't understand what the categories are. I know the first one means is your hair straight, wavy, curly etc but I don't understand the other 3. Please tell me in simple terms so I can type cast my hair and share with others when asked. Also what must you do to join the blogs and groups as I am blocked. Is there a certain amount of new posts or conversations you must participate in to gain that privilege. Also I uploaded my picture and it is not showing or at least I cannot see it. Thanks in advance

Reading the info at the top of the newbie forum might help:

Why not let us type your hair?

F/N/C = fine, normal, coarse hair (the thickness of an individual strand of hair)
i/ii/iii = thickness of your whole head of hair. So for this you need to make a ponytail and measure your circumference.
WCC method (washing) --- Rinse-out oil (MO) --- LOC/LCO method (styling)

That would be great. I am also not being notified of any replies. I have fine hair that dries mostly straight but sometimes with a slight wave but not very often. When in a ponytail it measures 2 1/2 inches around at the band.

vBulletin is very old forum tech--you aren't notified of replies in the same fashion as you would be on, say, another platform like reddit or facebook or whatever. I believe there are mechanisms by which you can subscribe to threads to see new posts though.

    Welcome to LHC

Sorry for your frustration....not everyone checks the newbie section
If you post pics in The official hair typing thread you may get a better response.

Also...check the User Permissions - profile & album picture access it will answer your questions about access. Some sections require you to have 25 posts minimum. To post pics you will need to use a web picture server (Imgur etc) until you have the required number of posts to start an album here.

    I see you have typed your hair....however a 2.5" pony circ = a full ii (not i/ii)

It sounds like you may be more 1c, but we can only type your hair more accurately for curls if the pic is taken after a shampoo, and it is air dried with no additional products or manipulation.
Only you can really determine the thickness by examining your hair strands; here is the Hair Typing Guide

Enjoy the forum and happy growing
