I can't advise you on dye, but welcome to the forum and happy growing!![]()
Hi everyone. A friend told me about this site, and I'm looking forward to connecting with knowledgable hair growing people other than on instagram (which I also enjoy)
My hair WAS past my boobs in the beginning of the year, and then I decided to change my hair color closer to my natural color from dark dark brown.
My hair was ruined by bleach in a salon and I had to cut it off to my shoulders. I wish I hadn't cut that much, but now its grown to 15 inches, and is slightly more past my shoulders. I am super sad about my hair length almost daily.
I am not liking the color my hair is, my natural color at the roots is fine, but also just boring. I love brunettes and just shouldn't have lightened my hair at all. But I want my hair to be super healthy too. I just want darker hair back, but I am not sure at all what dye to use. Ive been using a semi permanent from Sallys, but it only lasts like one or two washes.
Thanks to anyone who has any suggestions for a safe nice hair dye. (I've looked into Henna but found some articles saying it is bad for your hair)

JESUS, MY LORD AND SAVIOUR
Welcome
Sorry to hear of your salon damage
I don't dye (others can help you on that) ...but I do want to encourage you re: growth!
EVERY DAY it will be longer....and you should gain 1/2 inch/month.
So stay in the present, bling it up with hair toys and styles to enjoy each stage, and you will be at goal sooner than you think!
Happy growing
ETA: How about just some highlights?

Welcome to the forum.
You can't just "dabble" in henna, henna is red and very permanent. If you want a dark brown or black color, you will have to make the mixture most of all an indigo mix and that does not mix well with bleach! (turns green). So with the history of bleach, I personally wouldn't go there.
Why not just stick with your natural color. It is the healthiest option, but it's your choice!![]()
Hello and welcome.
Former hair dresser here with a couple of questions. I might be able to help with some ideas.
1. What color is your virgin hair? Do you have a photo of it?
2. What semi product from Sally's are you using?
Welcome!I don't have any suggestions.

My natural color is a mousy brown..
The semi dye I was using is Clairol professional. It just doesn't last long at all.
That's odd. I've been using Claroil professional grey solution to cover up a henna disaster and it's been holding very very well. Though, there is a chance that it has bonded to the henna or something.
You could switch to the grey solution line and see if it works any better or... alternatively you could check out the blondette pride thread. I really think what we call "mousy brown" is really an under appreciated color that when left alone sun bleaches easily and creates highlights that are gorgeous in braids and other up dos.
Here's the blondette thread. https://forums.longhaircommunity.com...ight=blondette
