From APL feels long on me. Above is medium or short.

I think it's probably circumstantial and it's definitely changing as my hair gets longer.
Before growing my hair out I would have said MBL for woman and probably anything past shoulder length for men.
Now (with my hair past APL) I think I probably classify hair as long at waist for woman and maybe APL? for men. I do feel like my own hair is long now, but not long enough, if that makes sense.

Probably somewhere around BSL to waist depending on the way it "sits" on a specific person.

I guess around waist length seems long to me, but I also agree with the OP that it always seems just out of reach.

On others, I think that tbl is really long, but on me, it still feels super short
