Default Smelly but good hair treatments...

I have been experimenting with different ingredients for my hair lately, and some of them have been very helpful for my hair but have a bad smell. For instance, amla oil.

I want to use the best things for my hair on a daily basis, but I don't want to smell odd on a daily basis.

When it comes to "smelly but good hair treatments", have you discovered anything that successfully masks the smells?

Like a certain type of fragrance oil, essential oil, or perfume?

    Thank you.

Henna has a very distinct smell, a bit like hay. To some people, itīs good and comforting... to other, itīs quite unpleasant. Ginger is basically the olfactory opposite to henna smell, so itīs very effective to counteract it.
If you fear it may sting or donīt want ginger close to your scalp, you can use kapoor kachli, which is an herb that smells like dried ginger. Itīs quite common in indian/pakistani/bangladeshi shops here, so itīs not a problem to find. I also used cardamom pods and chamomile, crushed, brewed and filtered to make a tea to rinse my hair.
This said, henna is quite powerful. Every time I got your hair wet, I could smell it.
When I was in a rush I quite just spritzed my hair with perfume or rubbed some drops of mint essential oil on the length.

I use lemon EO to mask the scent of my rice water. It's not perfect, but it's better than having that sour smell around me all day.

Sometimes I will use lavender EO. It always smells good.

Pretty much any of the Indian hair oils I ordered from Amazon. Very good stuff but man once you get all those herbs and oils together they are POTENT!
