    Default October 2019: Spirit Bun

This comes from LHC member Spirtlocks back in 2008.

    1. make a regular braid.
    2. insert a stick horizontally through the hair near the base of the braid
    3. insert a stick through the hair near the top of your head
    4. take the braid and wrap it in a figure eight style around the two sticks.
    5. then wrap the remaining hair around the figure 8 and viola there is your bun.

This one seems to have fallen of LHC radar for a while. Lets try it out!

Oh, I like this one! Here's my unbraided version from January.

ETA: And the regular braided one from December.

Hair is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans.

I've never heard of this one before! Tried it and it's very comfortable - I like it! Hair's a bit frizzy - it's been in its braid all day. I just need a matching pair of unobtrusive hair sticks - any suggestions as to where I might get some?

I don't remember having seen this one before! Sarahlabyrinth, it looks fabulous in your gorgeous tresses!

Thank you for starting this thread, neko_kawaii!

P.S. It will be a while before I can make this one. My hair is only BSL now.

Thanks - I'm assuming that's how it's done, I haven't seen any other photos of this bun.

That looks so cool! Does anyone know if there's a video out there, by chance? I think I understand the explanation, but I'm a very visual person. No guarantees I would do it on myself just because my hair is too thin for braids. Maybe someday I'll have a bout of confidence and give it a whirl

I am thinking of making a tutorial, if that would help. Also, you could always thicken your braid with a paranda, I always do. Siv, that's so intricate looking on you!

Ooooh, thanks for the link AmaryllisRed! Is that your kiddo filming it for you? That's super sweet that you had help. And it looks like you're all clear on the name edited out

Thank you kindly Sarahlabyrinth! I just saw Amarylis' video, but I'm always needing several resources. Only if you would want to do a video though, no pressure from me! I might have to try a paranda, maybe in a subtle color. I never wear braids since my hair compresses so much and it's not thick to begin with, so maybe that will give me a boost.

I'm happy to make one, it might be a couple of weeks away though!

Gods you do need a lot of hair for this one! I managed the eight, just barely!

(First I thought I had to make the picture public on Imgur to be able to post it on here, and immediately got 5 downvotes within seconds ... That's why I love LHC, such a kind community!)

(ETA: How do I make it smaller?!)
