Do you save shed hair? It’s a handy way to test it out without having to commit to henndigo

That is the question. Everyone around here seems to have their own preferences, based on what’s accessible and how their own hair reacts to it. It does seem to be commonly accepted that 2-step nets darker results than 1-step, and that you shouldn’t dye the hair attached to your head until you’re ready for a long term commitment. Henndigo is tenacious.

I was wondering if I would find you over here Bat! If not, I was going to point you this way.

I was using hena glosses when I was growing out bleach damage (i.e., over permanent dye that matched my roots). It really helped with the condition of my hair. I hope you find a recipe that works for you. Good luck

Any pure henna and indigo of good quality will do. It's more about how you use it

    Hi!
Is there anyone who's applying ONLY indigo on blond hair without henna step? How long does your color last?
I want black hair, but I'm too lazy for 2-step ritual.

I did a streak of it (about 1hr application), and it turned into a dark, greenish blue with an almost purple hue on some individual hairs. The majority of it washed out within one or two washes, but you can never bank on the same happening. I don't think I could even count on the same happening again if I did multiple streaks.
Growing back to definite-calf length with hopefully some semblance of a hemline.
Picky scalp but easygoing hair, thank goodness

I haven't done that, but I can say for sure that you would not be able to get it black. My hair is light brown and it took me several two step applications to get it black. Only people with very dark hair can get away with not using henna. Henna doesn't only contribute to the the color, but it also helps the indigo to attach to the hair.
