Default New And Starting from scratch

Hi ! I am new here and I'm starting from scratch. My hair was long and healthy after 3 years of not coloring or heat styling.I went back to blonde and took reallly good care of it. Back in January, my ex ripped out about half of my hair and it was just never the same after all that breakage. I had a couple of seizures that resulted in dread locks that had to be combed out . It was heartbreaking seeing all my hair on the floor !

I had no choice but to cut it last week to a long layered bob that just above my shoulders. It's been a shock to the system but I am desperately searching for ways to grow back my length. I'm using protien treatments, taking biotin, not washing it often and doing the best I can to baby what's left of my hair. I am not good at stying it and I feel like an ugly duckling.

I hope to find some new information here that will help me grow it back out as quickly as possible. So hello everyone and I am looking forward to hearing your stories and trying your tips !

    Thank you !

Also, what are all these hair types ? How do I find that out and how do I change that on my user profile ?

Welcome fellow newbie! You won't be able to edit your profile at all until you reach 25 posts. I think it's a way to sort out the riffraff and provide a safer community or something.

Wow, what an ordeal. It sounds like you're heading in the right direction though. Just be patient and love the hair you have. You'll start getting length back soon enough. Your hair can only grow as fast as your hair will grow. Welcome to the community and the start of your journey!

Thank you everyone for welcoming me. I think the first thing I need to do is quit bleaching my roots. I love it blonde but since I'm starting over I'm thinking heat and bleach should be avoided. Also, what are your thoughts on protien treatments ? I know too much is not good. I also cant figure out how to style it.

Oooh, I love the cut you describe. Check out Milabu on YouTube for styling ideas.
