    It sounds like you're going through the awkward stages which can be a real pain to get through. Shoulder to APL was always difficult for me because my hair just never seemed to look right. At that point I tried to wear it up as much as possible so I didn't have to look at it lol! Hair growth is like watching water boil, you have to mentally ignore it for it to happen. However, that doesn't mean you can't give it some love in the meantime Deep conditioning or a hot oil treatment is a great way to nurture your hair and get it feeling as good as possible while you wait for the growth

    Pretend that you are very happy with it and completely satisfied. Then, treat it gently, as though it mattered. Meet its needs well. See how beautiful it becomes!

    I agree with the great advice above. It will make the time pass quicker if you are kind to your hair and spoil yourself a bit. Maybe treat yourself to a hair tool(stick fork or claw clip etc) and put it up and out of mind.

    Remember, too, that every day your hair is longer then the day before! That thought helped me a lot in my growing journey.
