Help for a long time goal
I’ve been longing for my hair to grow and everytime I get it to my chest level it gets incredibly damage. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I do know an issue is me dying my hair red every so often and I only go to salons and don’t want to give up red hair. I’ve been sleeping in braids hoping to little damage my hair. Any advice hints or tips is welcomed and great appreciated. My hair was last chopped to my shoulders at the beginning of the year and now it’s about above my chest.

Welcome! What is your natural color? I know lots of people have tried henna, I'm sure they could give you advice.

Its brown and my dying method isn't really my issue its what can i do to protect it and grow it. I only dye it like 4 times a year and I don't bleach it. I know the dye itself is damaging but im more looking into the care before and after maybe oil treatments etc
Thank you for responding

Do you sleep with a satin pillow case?

A satin/silky pillow case is a great suggestion. I find it really reduced friction and tangles while sleeping, even with hair in a protective style, cotton pillows can really have a drying effect on my hair.
Do you use any oils or deep conditioners? Something to protect your ends as they get longer. Updos and protective styles can be extremely helpful in retaining length as well.

U can try oiling your hair before washes. It really helps. Especially organic coconut oil and massage your scalp with it by inverting your head below your chest level. It promotes growth as well. I hope this helps.

Oh yes and try soaking your ends in coconut oil for 5 minutes before washing. U will be amazed by how much oil is absorbed by your hair.
