    Default 30 day water challenge

    Hello, LHC-ers!
I don't know about you, but I don't drink enough water. And every time I read about growing your hair long, they mention drinking enough water, about 8-8 ounce glasses a day, which equals about two liters, or half a gallon.
    Who's with me!?
I'd like to start this chat as a place to encourage each other, join together, track how well we are doing, see if we are noticing any changes in our bodies/hair and all-around have fun.
If you miss a day, then just add another on to the end of your challenge.
    Here we go!

I'm not cutting it for two years though, so we'll see how it goes!

I drink water with my meds, and for the rest of the day, I drink coffee. Hard habit to break (and I don't intend to do it either). If I didn't drink coffee, I'd be asleep due to medication in part, all day. I manage half a day right now and that's a lot.

So, I'm good; but everyone who wants to join, have fun with the challenge!

I believe most days I average around 1,5 liters and don't know how I could drink more... I already feel like I have to pee all the time. But I'm joining, maybe I can track my water intake better and see the actual numbers

Lapushka, I feel you on the coffee. I drink between 4-8 cups a day. But I'd like to increase my water to be almost as much as my coffee, preferably more.

I definitely need this challenge. I should be drinking more than 2 liters of water since I'm breastfeeding but its hard since we are in winter here. This thread will definitely help me to stay focused

I tried drinking ~2 litres (8 glasses) of water every day. It lasted for only 3 months and it was horrible. I was peeing all the time, anywhere I went I had to think about whether a bathroom would be available or I just couldn't go. My Dad has diabetes insipidus and I think that was a taste of what his life is like when he's out of pills. I couldn't drink any tea or coffee because I was so full of water, I felt bloated and I gained 3 kilos out of nowhere that never really went away.

IMO you should drink as much water as you feel like you need. For me it's about 4 glasses, plus a few cups of tea/coffee/milk/soups/whatever. Maybe a bit more during summer if I'm outside and sweating a lot. I bought Tupperware bottles a few years ago (a 500ml one and a 350ml one from the kids collection) and I carry them with me all the time.

I think I might be slowly working up to the amount of water recommended. And I mainly just want to drink MORE water. Cause I do not drink enough at all.
I drank two full water bottles, so that probably equals about 6-8 cups, plus another 2 cups or so.
So somewhere between 8-10 cups. Not a lot, but that's about half of what I should.
    I'm getting there!!!
    End of day 2

Yesterday, I drank about 1l of water. Not much in terms of meeting my goal. Will try to drink more today

haven't been drinking much water, but yesterday, I think I drank 2/3rds of the goal. So I'm getting better. but it's not easy.

That's really odd, but I did experience a similar problem. I learned it was because I was not eating enough salt. Most people (in America, at least) have a lot of salt in their diet, which allows them to process the water. My experience was akin to not having enough salt/electrolytes, so the water was actually flushing my body of these things and I would not only pee a lot, but start to feel tired and light headed. I adjusted by adding in more sodium to my diet simply by lightly salting some of the food I ate (I generally don't use any seasoning at all) and adding in workout supplements, which generally contain sodium and electrolytes.

There was a gradual period of adjustment of course with my bladder getting used to having more water, but in the end it helped with cleaner sweat, easier movements and more energy.

and then summer ended and I went back to not eating or drinking at all

Just sharing my experience, as 8 glasses really isn't a lot, I was drinking up to 1 gallon though it was summer and I was also exercising.

I always drink out of a 1L mason jar, so I'll just get back to drinking two of those for this challenge. Not sure what I was drinking before, but Red Bull worked its way in there at some point
