I’m interested to know which stick shapes you like. Are you able to use many different shapes successfully? How does your texture affect hold? Single vs double sticks? I’m planning another poll about materials later. Any shapes I missed that do the trick for you?

My hair is wispy and fine and has a lot of slip, so I prefer CMW twisted acrylic, ONN turned acrylic with bumps, and his ovals.

Straight acrylic sticks slip out of my hair so I need to pair them with flexis (bead or leather), use them in a braided bun, or in pairs.

Wood sticks of all types hold better....but I like/prefer acrylic colors because they pop in my silver/white hair

ETA: I just realized I clicked 'twisted' instead of 'ribbon spiral'
I did have some twisted metal forks (TheTwistedCalontiri) but they were too heavy for my hair so I gifted them.

As long as the tip is "rounded" enough and the stick smooth enough to not catch my hair, pretty much anything goes So far I have: thicker, thinner, single, pair, twisted, flat, round, straight and slightly curved sticks in my collection

If I'm going to use a really thin stick like my hair swords, I prefer to use two or to wear a single in a braided or twisted bun for better hold

I hardly wear sticks, but if and when I do, I prefer a pair, as one stick is just not going to cut it. I generally prefer my 2-prong forks from either Ravenslair or Quattro. Those are my preferred way of wearing a bun.

For a single stick in an unbraided bun, bumpy works best.
Braided buns, which is what I usually wear anyway, will hold with anything, but my preference is a pair of smooth, round sticks.

Long, on the thin side and with ridges... i did not vote because i don't know that much about sticks to recognise those types. But that's what i prefer.

For going out I need a pair of sticks. One will not hold unless I make a tight knot of a bun which I do not like to do. Any kind is good it there are two. my Faves are my on squiggly sticks made from bamboo. Each of these has a partner to form pairs.

I haven't worn hair sticks in years but I still prefer single stick at a time. Flat, smooth and round have been good for my fine/medium straight hair when it was about waist length.

Ooh, those are pretty! Are they round or flat? I ask because they remind me a little of the flat sticks I have from Mapleburl.
