Homemade or Nightbloomings dry shampoo. I use a bit of both.

So now that the numbers show that most of you aren't actually stretching washing with dry shampoo, I need to ask: How are you stretching washings?

Particularly as a light-haired person, my hair darkens with oil, making greasy roots more visible than they would be on darker hair. Do any other light-haired people have any advice?

I voted parmesan. Dry shampoo irritates my scalp so I don't use it.

I only use it a couple of times a month. Just around my forehead, and in an emergency. I also use baking soda and or cocoa powder, as they make wonderful (and less expensive) substitutes.

How do I stretch washes? By not going anywhere and therefore not needing to look presentable but I can't say I recommend being somewhat housebound I used to do scalp washes every other day between ~weekly full washes when I was working. Absolutely nothing hides oily roots for my hair (apart from dry shampoo, but as already commented I don't like to use it much) - except maybe a coronet braid, on day 3 hair. After that, nope, nothing.

I used to use dry shampoo all the time when I straightened my hair. Now that I embrace my natural texture, I never use it.

This. I tried it once and really didn't like it. It didn't give me that fresh clean feeling that I like.
