Yes I think I wrapped the hawsers the wrong way

Not enough hair to do this one, but I love it.

    4 ropes

2 hawsers (did I wrap them the wrong way perhaps??)

1 cable....it kept unwinding, even with an elastic at the bottom...

I twisted it tight to bun it, but didn't really like it

Then took it all out and went for my good old friend the simple braided bun

It looks as if you wrapped them in the wrong direction, because when I wrapped my first braids together, they no longer looked like rope braids.

eresh, it's still pretty all wound up into a bun, though.

That is so odd; maybe you did twist the wrong way? Must be, right?
    Thank you!

I tried it on my thin hair - braided and bunned. Feels secure, but I guess I could'nt wear it for like all day - this ponytail holder feels too tight already

One trick I've found for the majority of styles that start with a ponytail but end in multiple braids is to remove the elastic once the braiding is done. Think of the elastic as a temporary holder.

I didn't braid all the way to the ends. My rope braids were probably only half the length. When I made the Hawsers I continued as rope braids past the stopping point of the original rope braids and so on with the Cable. I also had trouble with having twisted something the wrong way and ropes coming undone when twisted into the next step. I think I twisted that part in the direction that kept it twisted. The problem was not visible in the final product.

It looks great Konfitura and Neko!

I usually just skip the ponytail, whenever I do a hairstyle that's supposed to start with a ponytail base. I've made two hairstyles with a ponytail base in 2,5 years

    Four rope braids:

    Two hawsers:

    Cable braid (two views):

Then I put it through the loops and made a bun, sort of like an Elling woman.

    Finally made a signature!
