Now I have ordered my second sprunchie. Good that I waited, it was on discount, so it was ~4$. I misplaced the first one, spent some time looking for it, gave up, and later found it around my wrist

    Oh geez...thank you lol

I have OODLES of crocheted scrunchies....made from all my favorite yarn scraps.... and in the past 2 years I have made them to coordinate them with my knit socks when I wear my Birkenstock Sandals

Yup, I have done both types in the video, and personal variations.
Usually I wing the pattern depending on the yarn, and also what type of scrunchy I want (ruffled ones for buns and simpler ones for ponytails).

Thank for the video I spotted some others to check out too lol

I love my Birkenstock sandals, so comfy. (yes, it's true, I wear mine with socks in the Fall )

You are welcome, I came across the video while searching for a hat tutorial and I thought of you right away. I have only been crocheting for maybe 5 years and a bit, so there is always a challenge waiting for me, youtube has great tutorials. I actually learned to crochet by following an online tutorial.

I am going to make a scrunchie this afternoon.

luluj ~ I/we'd love to see what you come up with ....here &/or in the Crochet Thread

I thought I would post updated pics of my collection; my old pics were lost

    Self crocheted- mixed fibers

    Velvet (just bought them)

Satin (just bought them; removable rabbit ears)

    Small mixed

    Large
    mixed

    Yeah...I do love them

In my defense, I crochet a lot and store bought come is large packs lol

But aside from self made with left over project yarns, I won't be buying any more store bought scrunchies

I have three long haired guys in the house but they wouldn't wear scrunchies.

I have about 10 - 12. Nearly all mine are velvet ones. Other fabrics just wouldn't stay in my slippery hair. It's not thick but weighs a lot so a ponytail's weight would pull down hairtoys. I only use them for sleep or washing my face. If I move my head a few times they would slide down.
I remembered your post when I saw the new server at our favorite restaurant tonight

He is getting some gray on the sides (the rest is dark brown/F/ii) so I am unsure of his age.

He would fit into LHC great because when we chatted last week he was going to a Ren Faire (King Richard) and loves cosplay

Anyway, I never gave a second thought to his hair which is always in a ponytail; @ APL and secured with 2 small knit scrunchies (at the base and half way down to keep it from being to loose while serving).

They tend to be darker in color (black or maroon) to match their uniform.

I think it is great that he wears them and have no issue with any guy wearing them.

If they use darker colors and they are not too large/ruffley, they would not look effeminate IMHO
