    Default January 2018: Shell Bun

    Original photo tutorial: http://forums.longhaircommunity.com/...ad.php?t=65935

SwordWomanRiona has a tutorial for longer hair

I use mini seashells regularly to deal with the extra length from a crown braid.

    Or multiples for fancy updos.

For mini's I wrap twice around two fingers and what ever remains around one.

Ooops! Looks like we've done this one before in 2011. Ah well, its a good one.

Mod hat off. Mod hat on. Don't make me wear the mod hat, it messes up my hair. *grin*

I am practicing this one. I have plenty of length and hope to post it soon.

    So pretty Neko
I have tried many times and failed; my hair is just too fine/wispy

But I love looking at all the pics

I love how this bun looks in your hair, littlestarface!

I've never tried this one before -- I followed the instructions in SWR's video and I really like it. I wore it most of the day to day and it seems to be the most comfortable way I've figured out to wear my ficcare. Here it is, with a bonus appearance from my dog giving me a silly look

Any advice on what to do with the foot and a half of hair I have left over after following SwordWomanRiona's tutorial? I have tried to just continue wrapping like she does but i have too much and it doesn't stay. I also have tried to wrap it around the outside and that looks really strange and ruins the shell bun look for me. I have tried to do it with a braid to eat up some of my length but I still had a lot left over.

    Very pretty!

I love your Ficci too; I have a France Luxe Barrette in the color.

    I'll take it

I'd love to see a pic of your hair down with that great length
