Ugh, tried and failed. I need about a foot more length - damn you thickness!(but not really).

Okay so no sooner had I posted that I failed than I remembered a trick from torrinpaige on YouTube.

    And thus:

It is frizzy and exploding and loopy and I don't care because I held it up using a way too short torch and didn't brush my hair.

Well I still haven't figured it out, so if you want to share the results of your epiphany, it would be appreciated.

The hand position you use to make the bun is the Vulcan salute.

Here are a few of my own Spock buns. I invented this bun because my hair is thin and it makes a bigger bun.

Cross-posting pic from the Jeter thread:
Spock Bun* using my Camphor Burl 3-prong Jeter fork from Caraid♫ on the swap board:
Spock Bun, Camphor Burl 3 prongs, with flash

[I noticed a few of you mention about it being tight; I find by the time I've loosened it enough to get the fork through, it's slightly too loose to hold like a rock I'll be trying with a thinner-tined fork that's in the post, so I'll see if that makes any difference. Just if I don't loosen it, it messes up the inside of the top loop - a bit like when I do a lazy-wrapped L-infinity, actually, or even a celtic knot. Maybe my technique is wrong!]

*How the heck does my keyboard not recognise 'Spock' when I swipe?! This must be remedied immediately, or no Trekkie card for you, keyboard!
Length goal well and truly met, now just seeing how it grows ...

You all look awesome. I tried this morning but it was an epic fail. My fingers are not long enough to hold the hair in place
