    For years I haven't been in a situation where I would have to choose to swim in a pool or not, but if I was, I would probably swim, but douse my hair in coconut oil a good few hours before that, then have it braided for the duration of the pool activities.

    I've been an avid swimmer all my life. Fortunately, for me, I was born & raised in "The Land of 10,000 Lakes" so I do not swim in chlorinated pools

    But should I ever wish to, there are some really great tips in this thread on protecting hair! Thanks everyone!

    Our lakes may be frozen solid 4-or-more months out of the year but when they are thawed, their water is so wonderful to my hair... So wonderful... Sometimes I wonder if it's not even water at all, but unicorn tears
