    Default Pigtails cut

    I thought it looked interesting

I will be trimming after the 1 of July, when the no trimming challenge ( first half 2021) is over.
I think I will give it a try. My waves could use a bit of layering.
    Anyone tried this?

True that, a tad dramatic but I only watched the part about the cutting and skipped the rest

Is it the pigtails to the side, both sides? It gives you a Rachel, if I'm not mistaken. I remember this from the leaflet that was in my mom's magazine in the 70s, maybe even 80s, that she had kept. It gave technical drawings for each style, and this was in it, though not depicted in a "pigtail", just 2 vertical lines a ways from the head, and snip all one length. If that is it? It is legit!

Let's just watch the video. Yep, that appears to be it. You will get a pretty style from it. Wouldn't cut too much off, though. Maybe just the very ends.

All in all, she gives pretty good advice, I find. I am subbed to her.

Yep, I was thinking that I shouldn't cut too much. I guess its similar to the compact cut- the higher you place the ponytail, the more layering you get.
I would go for ponytails placed just behind my ears and cut very little. Should be interesting to see how it turns out.
But its still more than 2 weeks to the end of June so I have to hold my horses

You need to pull it to the side, and pick the middle spot to make your ponytail, if that makes sense? It is mimicking a vertical cut, so all layers sticking out horizontally from the head, and you cutting vertically down. But to make it easier, you make a ponytail.

And it is, in effect, the Rachel cut.

OK; this is a man's cut, but this is what I mean with going vertically, it is to mimic this "style", but Mel in the video sort of simplified it into a ponytail cut, which is pretty neat. And easy to do on yourself!
