Joining this thread, I actually haven't trimmed since late June last year (got about 1-1.5 inches off then) and don't foresee myself wanting to do anything until early July (right before I'm due to give birth). I might not even do anything then depending on how lazy I feel. My ends actually have been looking fine, especially since I started doing ROO. I used to try to S&D every 1-2 weeks but I hardly do that anymore either. So we'll see how it goes!

ROO stands for rinse-out oil. There is a link in lapushka's signature that takes you to the ROO thread if you want to explore it. It basically means that you use an oil during the hair washing process, between shampoo and conditioner, or between two conditioners if you condition twice.

    No problem!

    ---
I did some S&D a while ago. Cut off a whole bunch of white dots and some splits, too. Most of them are focused on the "second set" of ends, as in not the very ends that get trimmed but slightly above that, about where I tie off my braids and maybe 5 cm above that point. The hair tie has undoubtedly caused some of them, of that I am sure, but it doesn't really bother me enough to stop braiding my hair because my hair loves braids so much otherwise. The fact that my ends are damaged to hell is a big factor in it, so I don't really take any hair tie damage "seriously" at this point.

I will, however, dedicate 2021 to getting rid of the most damaged ends, that's for sure!

I will take part in both challenges this year and then I'll take a break from the challenges. I may or may not trim a little bit between them. I really want to reach knee by the end of the year, but after that I will microtrim for a year or so, to thicken up my ends

DH and I get our trims at the same time usually and when I mentioned not trimming until June or July he said he doesn't want to wait that long... He wants to get a bigger trim soon to cut the last of his layers out. I'm still going to hang around here in case he changes his mind though. But it feels like no trim challenges aren't in the stars for me anymore.
