That’s actually untrue though. Silicones don’t permanently bond to hair, they’ll come out over time even if you don’t use sulfates.

I don't have a preference. My current shampoo happens to have sulphates, my conditioner happens not to have silicones. I guess my hair just isn't picky since I've never had to think about them.

No silicones?? What are its magic ingredients? How long does it take you to comb out your length? Curious minds want to know

I use the regular Mane 'n Tail conditioner, which has no cones. It takes me a good half hour to finger-comb after air drying, but I only have to do that every couple weeks :P

I go back and forth between sulfate and non sulfate. But I prefer not to use silicones. With the amount of oil and leave in I use on a daily basis, I think sulfate would be the healthier option for me. My hair tends to get lot of build up over a short period, but I rely on other natural oils besides from my scalp. My scalp hates my own oils

I use sulfates and about the silicones, I do kind of one shower with, one or two without, then a couple with... I don't really care. I've tried silicon-free only but my hair doesn't like it, so I do both

My shampoo I use now has sulfate in it and my conditioner has silicone in it and my hair is a lot more manageable than before.
