My hair and scalp don't have any issues with sulfates or silicones, so I stick with them.

What is your current shampoo, if you don't mind me asking??
I've been in the market for a new shampoo with sulfates that isn't too stripping to the length.

I started using T/Gel for flaking and that's all I use now, just on the scalp though. I'm not sure how stripping it's considered; it contains Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES).

I voted sulfates and silicones regularly. Without them my hair/scalp is unmanageable.

I use both sulphates and silicones occasionally, trying to give up but I haven't found perfect replacements yet

I stopped using sulphates and silicones nearly 2 years ago and noticed my hair is much better without them. My hair is less frizzy, less damage, and my loose waves and curls have become more pronounced. However, I’ve improved my haircare over the years (cutting out dyeing, straightening, etc.). So it also could be an overall haircare improvement.

I gave silicones and sulfates up- including some favorite hair creams- years ago. My curly hair is not perfect but it's much happier! I also realized that a flaky scalp is just dryness, and what it really wants is some exfoliation and moisture- not more dryness. A curly hairdresser pointed out that the only certain way to get the moisture in there and improve scalp health is to drink water. When I drink enough water (a lot more than I usually feel like drinking) my scalp and the rest of my skin look and feel so much healthier. Sometimes when I feel like my scalp needs a boost I keep my hair wet with conditioner under a cap overnight.
