A little before APL my disc buns started holding with my spiral stick, and now at APL they'll hold with a long smooth stick!

    Maintaining at Hip-BCL for now.

I don't think I'll ever be a hair stick person. The hair is thick and probably won't work with a hairstick at present plus I don't like hard stuff sticking out stuff on my hair. My hair is tightly curled enough to stay in a lwb without anything else needed to hold it up in a bun or I tuck my plaits/braids up. I'm a hair minimalist.

I started at about BSL. My hair is medium thickness and very slippery. I had to quit using conditioner to use sticks. It also has a lot of strength, has broken many cheap hair stuff even though it's not thick. By the time it reached waist I could do all sorts of things with sticks except wrap buns. My buns have to be twisted for security and friction, wrapped buns can only be secured with multiple forks, which I think look like too much.

MBL. I used forks and clips before that. I also did the mistake to wear in the same ponytail most of the time...

When my hair could meet in the back and overlap about an inch.

It doesn't take a lot of hair if you're careful. But longer hair does make it easier and more secure.

I started wearing chopsticks in my hair in 2010 when my hair was APL. I didn't know there were actual "hair sticks" and other toys until I joined this forum.

Shoulder-armpit for me. The trick at the shorter lengths is to put it up in a French twist. Then move to cinnamon bun. Now I am around bra strap and can do lwb but not nautilus. FYI until this week, my hair sticks were knitting needles and pencils.

Around BSL. I could do a one-finger nautilus at APL but it wasn't very secure. Don't think I could do it on (thiccker) virgin hair.
