The maker, Marco, said that the scent is from an oil-wax mix and that it should go away after some time, I don't know how long that would take, but I'll sniff them every now and then to see if it changes

I'm tempted to buy more of them since they were so cheap and arrived so fast, but I should calm down a bit I really like them, but I think I will do them better justice once my hair is longer.

(...if he put out straight ones of a lighter wood I will probably go for it though.)

ETA: ooooh sh*t I just saw he does have a light wood one, what do I do what do I do.... How did I even manage to look past these the first time around??

Anyone else see those new wood moons he put up? And then, *blink* and like 2 out of 3 were already sold. Good thing I'm not into that shape!

I’m excited to try them out for the first time! I’ve got an amaranth stick, mahogany moon, and nut fork on their way. So much for banning myself

Nice! I like how you're trying out one of each thing. At least they're the more reasonably priced of the makers so you don't have to feel (so) bad about purchasing

Ha! Very true. Love the post-purchase enabling.

I just noticed your post from earlier today and cracked up! Apparently I was one of the people that scooped up a moon I haven't tried the shape before (CMW claw spikes are about the closest thing I've got, and they aren't all that close). I hope some of the other people trying them out are LHC members so we can get some more feedback and pictures. I love seeing action pics but I'm terrible at taking them.

OK, I will fess up. I may have been enabled as well. I am not admitting to anything, but this lilac hairstick and this oak moon may or may not have jumped into my cart

Hehehehe! I love it. The grain on that lilac is phenomenal.

Yeah, well, there may've been some cartwheeling going on down here, too. This, mind you, is after months and months of maybe/maybenotting. And then I saw DG's pics of the patterning I was ogling that may work with my own patterning. But the scent... Oh well. If it's bad, I see some hardcore sanding, buffing and oiling in my future as I couldn't let that bicolour bipronger of optimally minimal grainage (can't be tooooo busy in my hair) languish there any longer.
