I picked 5, a nice boost, but not too long that you suddenly have to deal with having longer hair so quickly, though if the ability to magically know how to take care of the new length came with it I'd have picked 9 +

9 inches almost equals a year’s growth to me.

Okay, at almost calf I think 9"+ would probably be too long, in terms of practicality. If I ever could grow that long I would certainly need the natural time to adjust. I wouldn't say no to 6 inches though, then cut 4 or 5" off so I hopefully have a solid hemline at proper calf

or even only cut 3" off

I would still like a thicker hemline but if I had an extra 9", I don't think cutting 7" back to floor with a blunt hemline would be manageable. I'd have to learn how to manage with gradually thicker ends over time. I think I only have one fork that would fit fuller, floor-length hair

Well, I have about 9 inches of bleach I'm trying to grow out, so I could accomplish that goal instantly. But I don't think I would actually. I'm looking forward to the satisfaction of trimming it away inch by inch. I also have no goals after virgin floor length, so I'd probably feel lost!
