Monthly S&D seems to do me best. My hair is very fine and delicate, so splits and tangles very easily...even in a braided bun. Even if I chop a few inches off, I'd always quickly find new splits within a few days. It does give a lot of taper at the ends, but I plan to get on top of that once I've reached my goal.

Early this February I started trimming 1/4" off the very longest tips every other week. But, after amonth, I stopped. So many other things I could do while it's growing. I mean wtf was I thinking?

For me personally I trim about 1 - 1.5cm every two months and still notice good growth. I'd call this regular since I'm tidying up the ends as I go but I am planning on stretching my trims if I can.

For the past several years, I’ve been stretching the time between trims from 3 months to up to a year. It’s been 13 months since I’ve been to a salon now, not counting the self trim 4 months ago.
