What one cardinal sin do you regularly commit on your hair?!

Giving up and ripping through tangles. My hair is so ridiculously tangle prone even in updos.

Not trimming... at all I mean, it's been more than a year for me and I do have plans to go another year, so... not sure if that's a sin or just hair sloth/benign neglect not really a "sin" really.

I'm a frequent scalp-only washer who puts off full washes for once a week... not really bad either though.

I gave up all of my bad habits (dyeing, straightening, ripping through tangles with a brush) so perhaps I'm a reformed hair saint... or something

Playing in my hair, knowing full well that gives me frizz.

I do tonnes of things that contravene a lot of the 'classic' LHC longhair suggestions. A few off the top of my head:

- Wear my hair down most of my waking hours? Yup!
- Detangle from the top down? You bet!
- Wash daily? Check!
- Sulphates? Cones? Check and check!
- Trim all the time? Every month - have still gained length!
- Use coconut oil? No way - hair HATES it.
- Use ANY oil? None at all!
- Benign neglect? More like malevolent neglect!
- Stretch washes? Madness lies down that path...
- Finger comb to bring out my emerging wave pattern? Disaster!
- BBB to polish the shine in my straight hair? Breakage city!
- Full detangle several times a day? With pleasure!
- Dance full out for 5 hours with hair loose? Many times a week!

And yet, my hair is in FAR better condition than when I started at LHC - that's because I now *know* my hair and what it likes and what it can take, and I'm confident in which concessions I'm willing to make for my hair and which ones I'm not There's so much incredible yet contradictory information on this board there's no way *everything* can work for everyone - but *something* will work for everyone - the key is to ferret out your own nuggets of gold regardless of popularity and live/let live toward everyone else to do the same

Very honestly, I tune out when someone declares 'THIS is how you solve such-and-such problem' and pay close attention when someone says 'this is how *I* solved such-and-such problem', so I really don't think in terms of hair sins, haha!! But then I have the type of personality that bristles somewhat against black and white answers to things in general, so......

I go waaaaaaaaay too long without trims and occasionally I'll box dye it when I'm feeling my inner red head screaming to get out

When my hair is really long I obsessively S&D with nail clippers - which probably isn't so much a sin and more of an obsessive addiction.

Me, too! Well, after a couple of days following a wash. My hair is the kind of curlythat brushes out into waves, though...I say if there's no breakage because of it, don't worry!

It does cause some breakage because I can't eliminate all of it. But now that I'm more careful it's not as bad as in the past. I detangle with a brush and apply oil/moisturizer with a brush so I'm not giving it up. I do like that we can choose curls or waves. Lucky us!

It would definitely be the hot showers... I get cold extremely easily and room temp water is practically painful. I've been trying to do the final rinse with cool water though.

Agreed on hot showers. There is no way I'm surviving Chicago winter without those bone-warming showers! Hopefully summer will be easier...

Well, I use silicones, tons of silicones. I comb when wet but those work for me so I do not consider them sins... What I do not like and I do it is like little star said, leaving my hair up in a braid for more than two days and it mats because I do not feel like redoing it, so I just put it up again, mostly on weekends ....
