    This! So much this! Not worth having hair in a state that is technically "perfect" if you can't enjoy it in some way or another.

    I agree too I love having my hair down and so I do whenever I go out (that is the sin for me ) unless it's some random errand, I'm eating or exercising etc. I probably couldn't make it to an extreme or very impressive hair length this way, but that's okay with me.

    Use a hair dryer once a week (medium heat).

    I guess hot water and sulfate shampoo. But I don't see these things as a problem if they don't negatively affect my hair. I've been working on washing less, and it's going okay. I figure sulfates and hot water twice a week is better than every day like I used to do.

    I wash it with warm water, detangle it wet (curly hair), and leave it in braids with my ends exposed

    My sin is that I go to bed with loose wet hair most washes.
    I usually take really good care of my hair when it’s wet—wrapping it with a soft tshirt and always air drying, very gently detangling with a wet brush (I have straight hair, but when I don't brush it wet it will dry tangled witch is personally more damaging for my hair)—and even when it’s dry I never sleep with it down because of friction and tangles.
    But I shower at night and I HATE waking up with wet hair, so I leave it loose overnight to dry even though I know it’s bad for my hair.

    Also, my conditioner has dimethicone, which I’ve heard can be bad or build up, but my hair reacts well to it so I don’t think that is a sin for me.

    Occasionally wearing clip-in hair extensions and styling it all together with a flat iron. Also dyeing the roots. ;_;

    Wearing it down too much and brushing it too quickly. Most of my issues from mechanical damage are from those two things! So far my spiral sticks have helped with keeping my hair up comfortably again, and now that I'm more aware of the extent of my thinning in my lengths I'll likely be much much more gentle with my detangling as well.

    Maintaining at Hip-BCL for now.

    Lately, it's been blowdrying straight once a week after I wash. I can sit there and justify it all I want, but I know it's probably not the best for my hair. But I wash in the evenings, now I don't have to sleep with wet hair. Besides- it looks so good! So far I don't see anymore damage than normal tbh so maybe my hair can handle just that much heat. But I still feel like I'm committing a hair sin.
