Default Classic length and beyond cones or no cones?

    Hi

Just wondering those with classic length hair and beyond, are you cone user or cone free?

    Thanks

Roughly fingertip here. I currently use some cones (mostly just bis-aminopropyldimethicone) because one of my conditioners has that. But I can take them or leave them. I seem to have issues with the volatile silicones and maybe dimethicone making my hair get dry after a few days, so I stick with small quantities of amine-functionalized silicones when I use them at all.

I don't use silicones in my shampoos, but do use harsh sulfates. No silicones there due to SD and oily scalp. I have a few shampoos that have light silicones in them, but they are do-able and don't cause issues for me.

I do use silicones (and quite heavily) in my conditioners. I am now using a lot of stuff up and some first Cs are without silicones, and I do feel that in my routine, in the amount of tangles I have post-wash. The more silicones, the less (or no) tangles. No tangles is the norm for me, if I use good products and my HG HE Hello Hydration as a second C (my routine is WCC - see signature).

My conditioner has cones, no idea about my shampoo. To be fair, I never tried a cone-free conditioner, but this one works well on my hair, so why would I change it?

Almost Knee here and NO CONES ever! Cones are evil for my hair!

My hair is a little past knee-length now. I use some lighter or water-soluble cones, like cyclopentadiene and bisaminopropyl dimethicone. I avoid amodimethicone and dimethicone. I have been cone-free in the past, it's just getting harder and harder to find conditioners with no cones and my hair doesn't seem to care much whether I use light cones or no cones.

Quick question. Don't you guys get awful tangles from using stuff without silicones?

I find that the silicones minimize my mechanical wear and tear significantly. YMMV, of course.

I always use cones, can't imagine what my hair would be like without them.

Not at all. I washed to the ends last night, then used my light no-cone conditioner. Hair's doing just fine. It's not quite as slick as when I use silicones, but the ends tend to feel better without them, honestly.

No, I do use honey in my last moisturizing conditioner and Kinky Curly Knot today leaves my hair feeling like smooth butt'a! There's tons of no cones stuff that's very moisturizing and tangle free, cones isn't the only thing that keeps tangles at bay.
