I've been going through some health stuff (including finding out I had anemia for over 4 years! And thyroid issues) and my hair is kind of struggling in the thickness department (its 1/3 of what it used to be : ( ) Thankfully I'm seeing new growth after the proper supplements and hope that it will bounce back to its former glory : cool:

I think the length change might make it feel fuller, but I also invested so much time and effort into getting it to be this long. I'm super picky with my hair so I want to think this through

I already cut it from classic to tbl a few months back and loved the change so ... a little more can't hurt... right?
I'd suggest maybe try hip first before waist? You can always cut more later if it isn't enough

Thank you for your input Lapushka and Bat! I decided to just go for it and I love the length so far It looks so much thicker and healthier, especially with the new fresh ends. I think I will maintain at this length for a while before I decided to grow it back to tbl

Did you decide on waist? I'm glad you are happy with your decision!

This thought of dyeing my hair black has been in my mind lately. But the thing is that i have grown my natural hair back and been keep it that way several years now ( sometimes streaks of semi-permanent dye). I really love black hair but the maintainig part.. lighter roots etc. I really don't know. And all the hard work i've done to get my hair at this point. On the other hand i really miss some change, and i have that itch for black hair.

Sooooo I have been contemplating getting a haircut - not really taking anything off the overall length but shaping it up into one of those delightful “modern shags” with some movement around the face and crown. Yes, I know I have just barely grown these bangs out and now I’m considering cutting some back in! I like how I look with more volume and texture and am feeling like a change so off to the 2 week thread we go.

Sometimes I think we are powerless against the force of layering... it is like the ocean tide, we grow, we layer, we grow... it is greater than we understand.
OR you could have been listening to too much Stevie Nicks. That can happen, too.

Hahaha I have indeed been listening to too much Stevie Nicks! Though you are also correct on the moon-driven tidal pull of layering.

I can totally see this layered look on you! I also love how it looks, and by having my face-framing layers, I try to bring some of it to myself without layers. Maybe one day I'll have the courage to cut in layers if I'm no longer at all concerned about length! I'd say go for it, it will look amazing on you! But maybe go easy on the layers at first and add/make them more drastic later?

    Aw thanks friend
My current plan is to get a cut that incorporates some sort of bang/face frame with lots of texture and try to keep the overall layering to a minimum - maybe something like this? https://shorturl.at/9vJDZ

I’ve come to terms with the fact that my hair isn’t probably ever going to be as thick as it was before the great thyroid tumor massive shed and that’s ok! I found a salon that specializes in fine hair and am going to try them out.

    Hello lovely baanoo

The style in that photo would look amazing on you! I think it’s worth having a really good chat with the salon to make sure you’re thinking along the same lines. Sometimes when there are any amount of layers, a stylist will cut the layers relative to each other and a lot of length gets lost.

Also, there are two schools of thought on fine hair - some stylists like to add layers for movement. Others prefer blunt cuts to give more weight to the hemline. It’s worth talking about what you would prefer and what would work with your hair.

Your hair has such different, beautiful textures to it. I wonder how much the curls will shrink with layers cut in? I can’t remember whether your curls are underneath or on top (or both), but it could be that layers will show them off beautifully. On the other hand, layers could remove the weight and sproing your hair right up.

You will, undoubtedly, rock the style.
