I was about 6. I used to braid my toys' hair. I couldn't braid my own yet though, and I didn't even try til I was about 13.

I put 5-10. I was braiding doll hair, yarn, and whatnot since I can remember. I honestly don't remember when I started braiding my own hair, but it was a long time ago. I learned to French braid other people's hair in junior high I believe. I didn't really learn to French my own hair until about 3 years ago and quality of that is still hit and miss because I don't practice enough. I haven't managed any non-3 strand braids yet. I really need to get practicing!
I voted 5-10. I was around 5 I think. I learned how to do 4 strand braid also before the age of 7. My grandma was braiding bun (kind of sweet plait) and I wanted to know also how to do it. I remeber it was little bit difficult to undestand at first. But it was fun way to learn.
I don't remember precisely, I can only say it was between 6 and 9, because I know that I was in elementary school, I learned by reading friendship bracelet instructions (so I knew how to read), and I had a pixie cut just before turning 10.
I then learned how to do fish braids from a book not long after that (most likely when my hair started to grow back), but I don't really do those, it takes way too much time with current length.
I was 19 when I learned French braiding, but at the time I could only practice on friends because my hair was once again too short. My first French braids on my own head were about 2 inches long!
I was 8 I had to do my hair in two braids all through school.
I don't remember; it was so long ago. I chose 10-15 because I remember spending a lot of time in front of the mirror experimenting with my hair as I entered my teens.
2-5. But I didn't braid my own hair back then.

5 or less. I remember wanting to braid a doll's hair so my mom taught me. She made me a thing of strands of yarn to practice on. I know what house we were living at the time I learned and we moved from there when I was going on 6. Oh and the yarn was orange. She braided my hair when I was allowed to have it a little bit long in the 4th grade. She didn't like my attempts at braiding it myself and was never allowed to leave the house when I had braided it. In 7th grade I was allowed to grow it a little past shoulders and would braid my little ponytail. My mom hated that too.
