Dear Fiorentina, it was not the nautilus bun I was referring to (though I like it too), but TatsuOni´s bun - a tatsilus bun. You can view it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04M88z-ZYbw If you like LWB and nautilus as much as I know you do, you might like to give this one a try - construction is very easy, similar to LWB, and the resulting bun is very, very nice. If your hair is not as long yet, you can use just 2 or 3 fingers for wrapping instead of the whole hand (my hair is quite fine, so I use 3 widespread fingers).
I´m wearing the tatsilus bun today again. I was going to wear the chopstick bun, but it just.would.not.work on me today, kept falling.

Speaking of nautilus, I made a Left-handed Lazy Nautilus Bun with accent braid, it’s quick and easy and rock solid.

I did the lower half of my hair in a gibralter, braided the top half, wrapped it around the base, and secured with my usual double claw clips. The top looks funky as hell, but it feels super secure and comfortable--might be something I need to start integrating into my routine.

I saw your post and decided to revisit the Gibraltar bun today.

Last October, I did the bun for the first time in my ABC hairstyle challenge, I did not really like the shape.


And as time goes by, I started to realize the importance of a bun(pony base)'s starting position, and this is why I make high buns most of the time.
And this time, I followed schmetterlinechen's tutorial and I love it, it complements my feature so well and gives me such a perfectly round scalp shape, and that's with an extra 11cm of hair.

Also my photography setup is obviously much better now, and no more weird angles. All this speaks volume of daily practice with even the smallest things.

A Tatilus bun on top of my head.

I'm sick so I wanted my hair out of the way. But making it a bit flatter and wider and with some "poof" around the head, it looks more like an Ewardian updo than a "modern" top knot bun and is more to my liking One can still be vain while being sick

I second it.
I missed my ABC hairstyle challenge days, I did three rounds in total and that was how my bunning techniques improved at a visible speed. Stick to it and you will see obvious growth, both on your hair length and your hairstyling techniques.
Maybe I need to invent/rename more bun variations with some of the rarely used letters to give you guys more option to choose from and make the challenge easier to tackle with more fun.
