Hi Fiorentina, lovely to see you again. I was getting lonely, posting here on my own![]()
As for caterpillar bun, it didn´t hold very well for me - I think I need to figure out how to push the stick through it properly. I don´t have a suitable fork, maybe it would work better with this bun. Lapis_lazuli´s bun is like the caterpillar bun, just inverted, in my opinion, and that holds better for me, even with just a stick.
For the celtic knot bun I found two tutorials - one is sarahlabyrinth´s and the other one is saltdraca (both on youtube). I tried both, possibly the latter held better for me.
Today I´m wearing the chameleon bun for the first time. I managed to get it right on the first attempt, cool. And when I look at my bun alphabet, disc bun is next in line, so I´ll be wearing your bun tomorrowHave a nice day, Fiorentina.

Second attempt at an orchid bun. I like the shape and it seems secure, but my hair sticks are too short.

Nefcerka, I think we do enjoy great learning fun together here, yes, and of corse we have also a very lovely conversation together.
I never did a caterpillar bun because I am not sure if my hair is long in enough but it is very interesting what you have experienced. I can learn by sharing personal experiences... most wonderful.
For me every bun in general holds better in place with a fork. One exception is the good old LWB. This one holds super also with a single stick. I dont know why but that is how it is.
Today I am wearing an LWB BUUUUT I changed my hands work. So my left hand did what usually my right hand does and my right hand did what usually my left hand does. Oh dear, I can tell you it was an undertaken. I like the result, now the bun turns in the opposite direction.
Regards
Fiorentina

Thank you for reminding me, Fiorentina. I remember that tuanyiji already mentioned this, doing buns with the other hand than you usually do, but I forgot about it. Now I wrote it down - I make notes about all new bunsand how to do them, tips to try.
I´m wearing the disc bun today. I´m so clumsy, my fine hair keeps tangling when I make it. I´ll have to practice more. Also my hair looks compacted in this, but on the other hand, it holds like a rock.
Just down but I'll French braid it later for the gym.
Caution: LHC-itis may become terminal.
