    A French Twist at the moment, but will wash it shortly. Tonight we are going to a family dinner and I have decided to wear a Helix bun with my paranda.

    How in the world do you get a French twist to work at your length with your thickness? I'm at or a little past BSL with thick hair, and I can't do one without it looking like an alien is about to be born out of the back of my head, and your hair is way longer than mine!

    (I mean this in the tone of "complimentary--I wish I could do this; how do you do it?", just for the sake of clarity.)
    Not quite APL -> APL -> BSL -> Mid-Back with compact-cut layers and holding a while-> ???

    Thank you for reminding me the helix exists. I just bought a matching pair of thin metal forks and I think they will work with a helix.

    I think Torrinpaige has a tutorial for a French twist with longer hair... or does my memory fail me? You hold your hair at the nape of the neck in a ponytail, Twist it around your fingers so it wraps around itself, place it neatly against back of head, adjust the hair on the "smooth" side to cover the twisted part, and fasten. This will leave you with a long "tail" of hair hanging down, which you don't want. So I wrap it around a couple of fingers as though I am going to make a pin curl, and tuck it into the fold of the French twist so it can't be seen, and hold it in there with a bobby pin so it won't pop out. Hope that makes some sense.

    I think that's Hypnotica's method, wasn't it? Maybe Torrin has similar, I haven't watched many of her videos.

    In a celtic knot... seems like there are only four buns that currently work for me.

    Later, down to dry.

    henna keeps it
    red, and red makes me happy.
    Pixied for 15+ years and liked it.
