It sounds better than it looks. The bun is pretty scrawny for the stick and my hair needs more length to make it look decent, maybe in about six months. It was still fun to do though.

I had twin braids--3 strand round braids, made with a skinnier center strand--and I bunned them up to go to town. Usually I'm laid-back about my appearance, but today it looked like a little kid and bothered me, so I bunned them.

I have it up in my usual topknot, secured with my 'granny pins' aka U pins.
... It took me this long to realise how many old Chinese stereotypes I am fulfilling with my hair alone. Unusually long, thick hair, check. Hair that's dark almost to the point of being black, check. Worn in a topknot, check. And secured with a crap ton of pins, check.

Now down to dry, after a day of finishing the house cleaning so my hair was grotty (and so was I!). So of course my cat thinks that my hair is down expressly for her to play with it. Fuzzball.
