I am 57 1/2 and almost at TBL so not quite at 60 just yet, however I still wanted to say hi and please hold me when I round the middle "age" corner at the next bend. Hugs to all and let's keep on growin'!! Would love to see pics of everyone for incentive!! So, HI!!
@ Madora you and your hair are gorgeous! Thanks for posting such a wonderful photo. Your hair is so thick and gorgeous!
@ bte Thank you for starting this thread. Hope it keeps on forever!
@ Kitsche Why did you trim so much? Glad to see you are growing your hair back so much. Hoping it wasn't due to health issues. ;( I love your blonde curls!
@ pro I love it! Tell them we are older than we are and watch their eyes go crazy with, Are you sure?? Too funny!

Sorry, I know I missed a few but happy to be here and hello to all!

I got this crazy idea that long hair was pulling my curls out and that if I cut my hair my curls would revive and look better - yeah, it didn't really work. I've decided if you want long hair, then that should be your goal - I've got to quit fussing over my curls - they'll just do what they do.

Good to see you, Kitchy! We must have the same birthday as I have one year and some months to go before I reach 60. Hair past classic as of now. Hopefully FTL then.

Good to see so many of us! Thanks for your replies and sharing your hair history. Thanks to the mods for correcting the title - I blame old age for my poor keyboard skills - keep on growing! For those not yet 60, there's the 40 and 50s thread!

Hi everybody, this thread reminds me of our old 50s/60s thread. Do you remember that, bte? It really was a lot of fun!

I'm 67 and am at calf length. The last time I had short hair was in my mid-20s.

I thought the same thing, Kitschy, that my long hair was pulling out my 2C wavy-curly texture to about 2A. That along with a left wrist overuse problem (and lots of complaints about drying time, etc) convinced me to cut back to waist length and layered. But no, it didn't bring my former texture back.
This is what I wanted back:

But this is what I have now (tips colored with Manic Panic Crimson):

It's a little longer than that now - tailbone when wet, just above when dry. It's seems like I've been at this length for too many months!
