Which is better?

Coconut oil doesn't agree with my hair, despite the ends still having bleach on them (It's supposed to be good for bleached hair, I think). Olive oil is brilliant, though!
Oh, how tricky! They can both be great but for slightly different purposes and, obviously, they won't work equally for different people. Oils are very YMMV.
I voted coconut just because I use VCO and EVOO for pre-poo oiling, but olive oil is so much easier to overdo on my hair. It gets overly greasy too fast. I find coconut oil is easier to wash out. And don't get me started on the research and anecdotal evidence on coconut oil and its penetrating and protective qualities for pre-poo, pre-bleach, pre-pools, etc !![]()
Personally, neither .. coconut oil makes my hair crunchie, as does olive oil as an added bonus I can't stand the smell of olive oil. For me it's sweet almond oil, argan oil, grapeseed oil or castor oil.
I think I like them both equally. I feel like coconut oil protects my hair better before shampooing, but olive oil makes my hair extremely soft.

If I absolutely had to choose between just those two, olive oil hands down. Coconut oil, while wonderful and miraculous for others, just does not agree with my hair or scalp, so unfortunately, I wasn't ever able to use it without some sort of issue. I used strictly olive oil for nearly one year before I couldn't stand the smell anymore - you know how one day you wake up and something you used to love suddenly makes you sick? Yeah, that's how my love affair with pure olive oil ended. However, a lot of my current hair products contain heavy quantities of olive oil and as long as it's mixed with something to mask the smell, I'm perfectly fine with it. I wish I could've gotten past the smell since my hair absolutely loved it, but I'm very scent-oriented when it comes to my haircare and by itself, it wasn't working for me.
Both! Coconut oil can make my hair crunchy so I usually use for prewash treatment. My fav is actually aragon oil.
